Artist Alley...What is it?
Artist Alley is a blog I made. It's not a blog for me. No, it's a blog for you, or rather any artist. I intend to use it to promote online artists here on DA or other sites by summarizing the artist, their specific areas of talent and samples of their work to entice visitors to check out their stuff. I do this not for my interest, but for the artist. Being one myself, I know how hard it is to attract the right kind of attention. Even if it's just a small blog entry, the extra attention is worth it.

How exactly does this work?
Although AA is relatively new and I'm still working out the kinks, I plan to go about in this manner: I will contact an artist, usually at random or if they catch my eye, and ask them permission to write a review about them. If they agree, I will take about three samples of their work, write an unbiased review and post it on the main AA site. The post will include the proper links to that artist's DA page or personal site. To get people to go to the main site, I submit the site to various blog and web directories to promote traffic. That way, people will get to see your work and hopefully, drop by to give you a look.

What are you, some art thief?
Goodness no! I hate art thieves as much as I hate liars and idiots. I will ALWAYS ask the artist first before posting a promotion/review on them and if they decline the invitation, I will NOT go against their wishes. Also, any samples posted will also be posted with their permission and a watermark will always be included. I want to help give you attention, not unwanted stress. :[

What sorts of artists do you feature?
Any and all kinds! CG artists, anime/manga artists, photographers, craft artists, webcomic-ers, traditional, original prose/poetry writers--it doesn't matter. It can even be non-visual art, like writing. As long as you made it yourself and call it art, it will be art to me too.

This sounds like a cool idea...can I help?
As of right now, I am still working out the system kinks, so I don't need additional review writers (this may change in the future, however) but there are other ways to help out. You can help promote the site itself by spreading the word to your friends. If you find an artist you like and feel should be recognized on AA, go ahead and send me their name and contact information. Also, I need an I.D. on DA. XD Feel free to make one to donate, if you want.

I'd Like to be featured on Artist Alley. How do I apply?
Easy! Email/message me about it. I may be busy, but I should be able to get back to you within a week's time. I won't ever turn you down (unless I'm really swamped with work!) so don't be afraid. Everyone deserves a chance, especially aspiring artists.
